Heather Shapiro
is a creative problem solver, joke teller, story cracker, shrewd with character development, and quick witted dialogue. She’s worked as a writer, director, creative producer, editor, and actor. Some clients include: HBOMax, Disney+, Hulu, Lionsgate, Netflix, Barbie, MTV, Hasbro, MGAE Toys, and Funny or Die to name a few.

Her digital series El Kimberley Proyect is streaming on Funny or Die and her short film Sitting Shiva premiered at the Fargo Film Festival in 2019. She is in pre-production for the feature Lonesome Town which she is co-directing with Preston Lane Jeter. Currently she is story producing for the show De La Calle set to premiere on MTV and Paramount+.

Heather likes to make dark comedies about big issues told in small snatches of time. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and the Harold Ramis Film School at Chicago’s Second City. She is in the advanced level at Groundlings.

She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and their dog Luna.
